What Is Kohakutou Crystal Candy?
Kohakutou is a traditional Japanese confection made from sugar, water, and agar-agar. Unlike hard candy or gummies, these edible crystals have a delicate, glass-like sugary shell and a soft, tender, jelly-like center. Every bite begins with a satisfying crunch.
At Crunch Crystals, we mix, pour, shape, flavor, and sometimes fill each candy by hand. The candies then cure slowly for 5 to 15 days to develop their signature texture. Think little edible jewels, made for savoring.
