What Is Kohakutou Crystal Candy?
Kohakutou is a traditional Japanese confection made from sugar, water, and agar-agar. Unlike gummies or hard candy, these edible crystal candies have a delicate, glass-like sugary shell and a soft, tender, jelly-like center. Every bite starts with that satisfying crunch.
At Crunch Crystals, every piece is made by hand in small batches. We mix, pour, shape, flavor, and sometimes fill our candies, then allow them to cure slowly for 5 to 15 days to develop their signature texture. It's a little edible jewel that's almost too pretty to eat. Almost!
